4th of July Celebration for Those Who Love America!

It’s that time of year again. The red, white, and blue is going up all over town. The fireworks tents pop up out of nowhere. Flip flops, frozen treats, and our aquatic center are part of nearly every Columbus kid’s daily routine. We’re known for our enthusiasm for Independence Day here in Columbus because of our five-day celebration that includes the carnival, bands, food, fireworks and 4th of July parade that are second to none!

Kickoff to Festivities

Our celebration kicks off from 5:30pm to 8:00pm with a character meet and greet! Families can join in on the fun along with other kids’ activities at our historic Fireman’s Park Pavilion. Once the kiddos are back at home after all the family activities, check out the main stage from 7:00pm to 10:30pm where the Lo-Fi Killers will be playing!

Fun on Friday!

Day 2 of our celebration features Mr. Ed’s Magical Midways Carnival! Opening at 5:00pm, Mr. Ed’s Magical Midways carries over 20 quality attractions including spectacular, thrill, family, and kiddie rides.  In addition to their exciting rides and attractions, they have a wide selection of games and food concessions. Don’t miss out on their wristband special that goes until 9:00pm! Once you’re done enjoying the carnival, you can listen to Mark Croft Band & Roots on the main stage from 7:00pm to 11pm.

Good Times on Saturday

The good times don’t stop! Mr. Ed’s Magical Midways Carnival opens up at 1:00pm and features a wristband special from 1:00pm to 5:00pm! While enjoying rides, treats, and fun – you can listen to Dakota Tamminga on the main stage. After the day is over, stop by for the evening music from 7:00pm to 11:30pm, jam out with Super Tuesday!

Eve of Independence Day

The buildup to the 4th of July continues with super wristband day at Mr. Ed’s Magical Midways Carnival! As a result, this wristband special last from 1:00pm to 9:00pm. Because we’re really into the festivities here in Columbus, we have a pair of musical acts at the American Legion Building for you to enjoy. Jesse Walker performs from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Randy Kiel performs from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. The music doesn’t stop there as the Madison Music Foundry plays from 1:00pm to 5:00pm on the main stage. Just because it’s Sunday night, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy great music from Hank Kimball and the County Agents on the main stage from 7:00pm to 11:30pm!

After 4 days of celebrating, it’s finally Independence Day! As a result of our enthusiasm, we kick off the day with our massive, 4th of July Parade at noon! The carnival begins at 1:00pm along with a whole host of fun events. On the main stage, Bobby Evans and the Alimony perform from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Once you’ve enjoyed some rides and music, stop by the KC Brat Stand for comedy juggler and unicyclist, TJ Howell for lunch and a show from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. After some food, stop by the Fireman’s Park Pavilion because there’s a good game of BINGO held by the Knights of Columbus at 3:00pm. From 7:00pm to 11:30pm you can enjoy a performance by Pilot at the main stage with fireworks beginning at dusk.
